This is a wonderful pot roast recipe that I got from Mary Hunt's cheapskate newsletter.
1 3-4 lbs. beef roast (I use bottom round, chuck roast is also good)
1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
1 packet dry Ranch dressing mix
1 packet dry beef gravy mix
1 c. water
Put it all in a crockpot and cook on low about 7 hours.
I made this on Saturday but by dinnertime, I had a bad sinus headache and didn't feel like eating. So I refrigerated it and on Sunday, I sliced the roast in nice thin slices, and heated it in the gravy. Totally yummy!
I really like this cause the roast was extremely tender but not falling apart so slicing thin was possible. It will make great sandwiches for lunch one day this week.
And if you can't use up a whole roast at one time, it freezes in the gravy beautifully!
