Fern Michaels has long been a well loved author to millions of dedicated fans. Her talent speaks for itself, but I want to add how incredibly generous she is, too. When I started the fundraiser for the Animal Adoption Foundation, I contacted a lot of authors asking for donations of autographed books and promotional materials.
Fern sent an autographed hardcover book - and a hefty cash donation that literally staggered me. I think I yelled, and my husband came running, then he, too, looked at it twice to make sure we weren't seeing things. I can never thank her enough with words, so I'm hoping all of you can help me.

Like most people, if there is anything I have a soft spot for, it's children and animals. Thank you for donating so generously to the AAF. Animals brighten our lives, become our best friends and family members, and deserve to be loved. While I've never met Fern Michaels, I truly admire her. She cares and that is something that shines through her writing and the generous way she deals with others and with life. She was one of the first authors to make it on my personal bookshelves and continues to touch millions of readers with her stories. When Lori told us that Fern Michaels had donated $1000 to the AAF, I wasn't surprised at all. Public personalities (and face it, well known writers are that) have to deal with the fact that their reputation precedes them. Fern Michaels' reputation preceded her and it's a a very nice one indeed!

Texas Fury, Texas Rich, and Texas Heat were my early introduction to great family sagas. I loved losing myself in the worlds Mrs. Michaels created. In fact, looking at her website and thinking back over the adventures of the Colemans makes me want to read all of them again - plus everything since that I've woefully missed!!
